Last updated: 28 September 2026. This notice explains how Hi Home collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit the website, contact us or place an order.
1. Who we are
Hi Home is operated by Liliia Romanko, an independent handmade blanket maker based in Manchester, United Kingdom. Liliia is the person responsible for the personal information described in this notice.
For privacy questions or requests, please email hihomeua.shop@gmail.com.
2. Personal information we may collect
Depending on how you contact or order from Hi Home, we may collect:
- your name and contact details, such as your email address, telephone number or social-media username;
- your enquiry, messages and correspondence with Hi Home;
- order details, including blanket style, colour, size, personalisation or other preferences;
- delivery information, such as a delivery address and, where relevant, a recipient's name;
- transaction information such as the amount paid, payment status or payment reference; and
- basic technical and security information that may be processed by the website hosting provider, such as IP address, browser/device information and request logs.
Hi Home does not ask you to submit full payment-card details through this website.
3. How we collect information
Most personal information is provided directly by you when you contact Hi Home by email, WhatsApp or Instagram, or when you discuss or place an order. If someone orders a gift for another person, we may receive the recipient's name and delivery details from the person placing the order. Limited technical information may also be generated automatically when the website is delivered and protected by its hosting provider.
4. Why we use your information and our lawful bases
We use personal information only where we have a lawful reason to do so. Depending on the situation, we may use it:
- To respond to enquiries and discuss a possible order — where necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or for our legitimate interest in responding to genuine customer enquiries.
- To make, manage and fulfil an order — where necessary to perform our contract with you, including confirming specifications, arranging payment and organising delivery.
- To provide customer service — where necessary for the contract or for our legitimate interest in managing customer relationships and resolving problems.
- To keep accounting, tax and other required business records — where necessary to comply with legal obligations.
- To keep the website and business secure — for our legitimate interests in preventing misuse, protecting the website and keeping appropriate records.
Hi Home does not currently use your contact details to send email or text-message marketing newsletters. If this changes, this policy will be updated and any consent or opt-out required by law will be provided.
5. Who we may share information with
We only share personal information where reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. This may include:
- communication providers used to receive and reply to messages, such as Gmail, WhatsApp and Instagram;
- the website hosting and security provider;
- payment providers or banking services used to receive payment;
- postal or courier services where delivery is required;
- professional advisers, such as an accountant, where needed; and
- public authorities or other organisations where disclosure is required by law.
Hi Home does not sell personal information.
6. International processing
Some of the service providers used by Hi Home operate internationally, so personal information may be processed outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, Hi Home relies on the transfer arrangements and safeguards made available by the relevant service provider. You can contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
7. How long we keep information
We do not keep personal information for longer than we reasonably need it.
- Enquiries that do not become an order: normally up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact.
- Order, payment, delivery and customer-service records: normally up to 6 years after the order is completed where the information may be needed for accounting, tax, legal or dispute-resolution purposes.
- Website technical/security information: retained according to the hosting provider's applicable retention settings and only for as long as needed for website operation and security.
We may keep information for longer where the law requires it or where it is needed in connection with a legal claim.
8. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis being used, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict how your information is used;
- object to certain uses of your information;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent.
Your right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing. We will consider your objection in accordance with UK data-protection law.
To exercise a privacy right, email hihomeua.shop@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity before completing a request.
9. Automated decision-making
Hi Home does not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
10. Children
Although Hi Home makes products that may be suitable for children, the website and ordering process are intended for adults. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from children.
11. Cookies and website technology
The Hi Home website does not currently include analytics or advertising cookies in its own code. The hosting provider may process limited technical information that is necessary to deliver, secure and maintain the website. If analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies are added in the future, this policy and any required cookie choices will be updated before those technologies are used.
12. Keeping information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information and use established third-party services for website hosting and communications. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in messages.
13. Complaints
If you have a concern about how Hi Home uses your personal information, please contact Liliia first at hihomeua.shop@gmail.com so that we can try to resolve it.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can find information about making a complaint at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the website, the services we use or the way we handle personal information changes. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
